Experience
I am an officer in the U.S. Air Force and a graduate of the University of Arizona, where I earned my bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering. I have spent many years as an educator in a variety of capacities, including teaching swimming lessons, tutoring elementary school students, and serving as a substitute teacher. I am a visual learner, so I understand that all students learn differently. I adapt my teaching style to fit each student's preferences. I often encourage my students to look at difficult problems or concepts as if they were puzzles. This helps students approach the problem from many different angles in order to find the best way to solve the problem. I am most fond of tutoring students in math and science subjects, including algebra, calculus, multivariable calculus, differential equations, geometry, trigonometry, chemistry, physics, and mechanical engineering. I am also able to help students who are taking IB- and AP-level mathematics and physics, and I enjoy helping students prepare for math competitions. In my spare time, I enjoy yoga, acrobatics, swimming, diving, slacklining, hand balancing, and relaxing in front of a good movie.
